Job opportunity | (Interim) Gallery Manager

Raven Row is looking for a part-time (Interim) Gallery Manager to manage the organisation, the current residency programme and the building during the hiatus in its exhibition programme.

 

Because the role requires independent work, previous experience in a similar role is essential.

Raven Row is an historic building, and unfortunately access is only possibly by staircase.

 


 

As Raven Row's exhibition programme is currently suspended, its day-to-day operations have subsequently been greatly reduced.

 

The (Interim) Gallery Manager will maintain and manage the building and the residual operation of Raven Row as an organisation, including its finances in collaboration with a part-time bookkeeper. The Gallery Manager will also assist the Director in tasks relating to the management and organisation of Raven Row. The Gallery Manager will often be the sole representative of Raven Row, managing enquiries, press requests etc.

 

For the next few years the galleries and flats of Raven Row are being used by twelve or so independent groups and organisations, as well as by one independently run non-profit gallery. As well as liaising with the residents when necessary, especially around the management of workshops and shared spaces in the building, the Gallery Manager will be responsible for managing the annual process of working with a panel to select and induct groups and organisations into year-long residencies.

 

The (Interim) Gallery Manager reports to the Director and line manages gallery assistants (‘caretakers’).
