As part of the programme of events surrounding the exhibition 'Unto This Last', Glenn Adamson and John Roberts will be in conversation at Raven Row. Glenn Adamson contributed the essay The Ties That Bind to the publication produced for 'Unto This Last'. The Head of Graduate Studies at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, he is also the author of Thinking Through Craft and the editor of the anthology The Craft Reader. John Roberts, professor of Art & Aesthetics at the University of Wolverhampton, is the author of The Intangibilities of Form: Skilling and Deskilling in Art After the Readymade. Their discussion will revolve around the recurrence of craft in contemporary art at a time when the capitalist model of production is facing renewed criticism, while addressing issues in relation to the works in the exhibition and the different modes of production ('skilled, deskilled, reskilled') they entail.
